Job Purpose:
Bidvest International Logistics is in the market for a yard supervisor who will be responsible to ensure that all operations takes place according to the set out standard operating procedures and report all deviations to the Operations Manager. Furthermore, ensure that all vehicles are compliant with the client’s Coaching Instructions and manage KPI performance reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications:
- Senior certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Certificate in Logistics or equivalent.
- Valid Code 08 Drivers License.
Experience:
- ±2 years in a Supervising position.
- ±2 years in Warehousing / Stock yard operations.
- Vehicle Handling .
- Manage a team of people.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Satisfaction:
- Quick response to Customer queries and resolving thereof
- Ensure all processes are in support of customer expectations and also focussed on minimising risk
- Support Customer Liaison and also focus on minimising risk
- Controlling of all Yard operational activities
- Ensure good Vehicle storage and handling governance according to client standards
- Ensure that regular operations meetings are held with staff to manage output and expectations
- Encourage continuous improvement of service
- Ensure that all quality objectives are measured and met
- Manage the effective servicing & maintenance of all equipment within department
- Ensure that battery reservations are printed and captured
- Ensure that exports
- Ensure compliance to good hygiene and housekeeping disciplines within all areas under responsibilities
- Ensure that the department aligns itself to the BidvestIL corporate framework and that all signage and uniforms uphold the image of BidvestIL
- Monitor and maintain discipline in all areas of responsibility
- Fuel management
KPI’s & Reporting:
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly measurement and reporting of KPI Achievement
- Ensure on time submission and accuracy of daily/weekly / monthly management reports
- Ensure that all KPI’s are achieved
- Ensure that all quality objectives are met Identification and Management of KPI’s for the operation and ensure that they are known and understood by all staff
People Management:
- Ensure that staff Productivity in all operations are measured and achieved
- Establish KPI’s for subordinates and manage accordingly
- Conduct Performance Appraisals of staff in line with company deadlines
- Manage leave days of staff not to exceed more than 15 days of leave per staff member, or have excessive leave
- Manage absenteeism and ensure BidvestIL code of conduct are understood and not transgressed by
- Ensure all staff within facility comply with correct daily use of PPE and uniforms
- Ensure general well being of personnel, including discipline
- Motivating all staff
- Succession management
Inventory Management:
- Ensure & maintain high level of Inventory accuracy
- Maintaining of accurate stock levels
- Resolving of anomalies picked up
ISO:
- Ensure processes and procedures are in line with the customer expectation
- Filing of all operational documentation daily as per ISO procedure
- Job observations
- Internal ISO Audits
SHE:
- Reporting of any incident as and when it happens
- Ensure compliance to correct PPE at all times
- Ensuring compliance to SHE procedures and standards
- Incident Investigations
- Monthly SHE checklists to be completed
- Adherence to specific SHE appointment
5S:
- Ensuring the maintaining of 5S in areas of responsibility
- 5S checklists to be completed continuously
General Administration:
- Maintain proper archiving procedures
- Recording, filing and archiving of operational documentation
- Be creatively involved in daily meetings
- Assist the Controller in areas where and when required
- Ensure BidvestIL code of conduct are understood and not transgressed by
